The Airlie Gardens is among Wilmington’s must-see sights to see. This 67-acre wonderful contains formal gardens, wildlife, historic structures, ten acres of lakes, more than 100,000 azaleas, a seasonal butterfly house, and the grandeur of the 468-year-old Airlie Oak, which dates back to 1545. During this guided tour, you’ll see much of Wilmington on the way to the gardens and get to spend up to an hour walking the trails or riding the tram to discover landscapes, where something is always in bloom.

The trails that guide you through Airlie lead to unique landscapes and installations including the freshwater Airlie Lake with swans and other wildlife, a pergola garden, a tranquility garden, the historic Mount Lebanon Chapel, and the Minnie Evans Glass Sculpture Garden. Visitors take bird walks and learn to identify more than 160 species that call Airlie home – egrets, kingfishers, ospreys, indigos, and red-cockaded woodpeckers.

Your nature-bound day kicks off when you check in with your fun and professional guide. They will provide you with a state-of-the-art e-bike, helmet, and a cell phone holder. After a brief safety and training session, you’ll be cycling the streets like a pro!

Following your guide, you’ll cruise through the heart of downtown and down the famous River to Sea Bikeway path. The route to the gardens consists of a dedicated bike path, full of windy stretches and through lots of beautiful nature. With lots of picturesque opportunities available, you’ll be leaving this tour with tons of new photos.

Your tour includes the admission to the Airlie Gardens, along with the e-bike rental, helmet, small basket for personal belongings, a cell phone holder, and a tour guide.
